Farmington River CT

The Farmington river is cold almost year round, and even in the harsh summer heat, it is still fish-able when other areas are not. This is because the water comes out of the bottom of the reservoir, the coldest part.

Stocking the Farmington River in CT
The Farmington River is stocked by the CT DEP. In 2009 it was stocked April 3rd, September 4th. You can probably expect a similar schedule in 2010. I’ve heard that the trout usually need a few days acclimate before they will hit a fly.
